Compatibility Warning

Please be aware that these units vary, and the correct receiver must be used with the correct remote. The frequencies must match. To determine this, check the FCC ID number on the back of your remote control.

  • If the FCC ID reads CHQ7222T, the frequency is 304MHz.
  • If the FCC ID reads CHQ7222T434, the frequency is 434MHz.
  • Note for other models: You can find the frequencies by searching the FCC ID number on Google.

If you purchased a new kit, it should be compatible. However, if you purchased only the remote or only the receiver, please ensure you have the compatible models. The product pages should list the frequency or compatible models for confirmation.

If your new remote or receiver isn’t pairing, it is likely due to a frequency mismatch. Please follow the steps below for pairing.

Important notes

Please remember the following instructions for installing the ceiling fan receiver:
  • A qualified electrician is recommended to install the ceiling fan receiver.
  • Before disconnecting or connecting the receiver unit, make sure to disconnect the fan from the power source at the wall switch.
  • Refer to all safety instructions that were provided with your fan.

Installing the Receiver

  1. Disassemble the fan housing to expose the old receiver. Refer to the ceiling fan instructions for more information.
  2. Unscrew and unplug the old receiver and dispose of it. Keep the screws.
  3. Plug in the new receiver.
    1. Make sure the 9-pin square plug is aligned and clicks into place.
NOTE: If you have installed the light kit, make sure to also connect the blue and white light wires. If the plugs on the blue/white wires don't align, you can cut off the plugs and twist the wires together using wire nuts.
  4. Install the new receiver in the same location as the old one. Secure the new receiver with the existing screws onto the bracket in the housing.
  5. Reinstall the housing according to the instructions in the ceiling fan manual.

Installing the Battery

  1. Remove the battery cover. Press firmly on the arrow and slide the battery cover off.
  2. Using an A23 (12v) battery, insert it firmly into the battery terminal, making sure to align the positive and negative polarities to the matching polarities of the diagram shown inside the battery compartment.

Pairing the Remote

  1. Remove the battery cover to expose the battery compartment.
  2. Slide the four-pin code switches to your choice of up or down position.
Note: It is recommended not to use the default position. If you have multiple fans, ensure that each fan remote is paired using a different pattern (frequency) to prevent interference.
  3. Turn the main power to the fan off either by the circuit breaker or wall switch.
  4. Restore the power to the fan, and within 30 seconds;
  5. Press and hold the POWER (FAN OFF) key for up to 10 seconds. After the receiver detects the frequency, the downlight on your fan (if available) will blink twice. If your fan doesn't have a light, there won't be any indication.
